3 Best Bamboo Houses in Bali: Unique Stays for Your Next Vacation

Bamboo houses are a unique accommodation concept that’s becoming increasingly popular in Bali. These eco-friendly retreats are mostly located in nature, offering a chance to fully immerse yourself in the island’s beauty. Often designed with an open layout, bamboo houses that are designed as villas allow you to experience Bali’s tropical climate firsthand. These villas are perfect for travelers seeking peace, quiet, and a closer connection to nature.

Whether you're visiting Bali for the first time or are a frequent visitor, staying in a bamboo house can provide a refreshing and unforgettable experience. You’ll find that these stunning accommodations blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the island while exploring the unique charm of bamboo architecture.

Here are three of the best bamboo houses in Bali that we’ve recently stayed at:

1. Veluvana Bali - The Scorpio House

Veluvana Bali is the perfect escape if you want peace and quiet with stunning views. We stayed in the Scorpio House, which overlooks the majestic Volcano, Mount Agung. It’s a great place to disconnect from the busy world and just enjoy the beauty around you.

There aren't many activities here, but that’s what makes it so relaxing. The bamboo house is open-air, with no air conditioning, but don’t worry there’s a mosquito net around the bed to keep you comfortable. You can spend your time lounging by the pool or soaking in the views from your villa.

Other unique bamboo house options at Veluvana include the Snail House, Octopus House, Manta House, Cobra House, and Owl House.

2. Camaya Bali - As Seen on Netflix

Camaya Bali is famous for being featured on Netflix’s "World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals," and it’s easy to see why. These bamboo houses are beautifully designed and set in peaceful surroundings. We stayed in two villas: the Pyramid House and the Lotus House.

The Pyramid House has a cool triangular design with a panoramic view of the rice terraces. Like Veluvana, it’s open-air with no air conditioning, letting you enjoy the natural breeze. It also comes with a private pool, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

The Lotus House offers a more secluded experience, ideal for relaxing. It has an infinity pool that overlooks the jungle, and the spacious outdoor living area is perfect for chilling during the day. The villa has a fly tulle-covered bed for a comfortable sleep in nature.

Other bamboo houses at Camaya include the Suboya House, Butterfly House, Nirvana, and Metangi.

For an eco-luxury stay with a futuristic twist, Ulaman Eco Retreat is the place to be. The bamboo villas here feel like they’re straight out of the movie"Avatar"! We stayed in the Sky Villa, which has air conditioning while still being surrounded by nature.

Ulaman also offers more activities than the other places, with wellness retreats, yoga sessions, and an amazing spa. It’s only 20 minutes from Canggu, so you can easily explore the area while still having a peaceful retreat to return to.

Other bamboo house options include the Lake Villa, Cocoon Upper Deluxe, One Bedroom Villa with Pool, Grand Lagoon Villa with Pool, and Deluxe Suite.
